A Life of Service
Jerry Donathan has dedicated his life to serving his country and his community. Enlisting in the Navy, he spent four years on active duty before later joining the Oklahoma National Guard, where he retired as a Master Sergeant. His service included responding to the Murrah Building Bombing in Oklahoma City and participating in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After a distinguished career, Jerry retired from the National Guard in 2006 and later retired from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in 2010.
Community Focused
Born and raised, Jerry's deep roots in Southeast Oklahoma shape his commitment to the community. Since 1980, Jerry and his wife, Barbara, have called McAlester home, contributing to the local community and supporting its growth and well-being.
An Advocate for Working Oklahomans
Understanding the challenges faced by working Oklahomans, Jerry’s only path to college was through the GI Bill, which underscores his advocacy for accessible education and opportunities for veterans. As a rancher, he grasps the difficulties confronting Oklahoma farmers and ranchers and is committed to being their advocate. Jerry has previously and continues to champion a livable minimum wage, reflecting his dedication to improving the livelihoods of working families in Oklahoma.

Born in Southeast Oklahoma, Jerry and his wife, Barbara, have called McAlester home since 1980.
